Donation of essential medical apparatus to the Ministry of Health to aid combating COVID-19

Essential medical apparatus was presented to the Ministry of Health by Lakdhanavi in March 2020, in recognition of the commendable efforts of the Health Authorities in combating the Covid-19 pandemic. Donation of medical equipment includes, three state of the art ICU ventilators manufactured in Switzerland, two Non-Invasive Ventilators (BiPAP) manufactured in Australia and two High Flow Oxygen Therapy machines produced in New Zealand.

Renovation of the Children’s Ward of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital

Lakdhanavi renovated the Ward No. 4, visitors’ area and medical staff administration premises of Lady Ridgway Hospital to create a pleasant environment for children who receive treatment. In addition, the Company extended its support to completely transform an identified area within Ward No. 4, into a fully equipped High Dependency Unit with the latest medical equipment and other essential facilities. This comprehensive unit is dedicated to children infected with the dengue virus.

Solar Power System installed at Ananda College, Colombo

Lakdhanavi designed and installed a Solar Cell System at the Kularatne Hall of Ananda College, Colombo. Total capacity of the unit is 50 kW, and it generates 78,000 kwh of electrical energy per annum, reducing the cost of electricity to the school.

Maintenance of the Lighting Systems in Key Religious Institutions

Through Lakdhanavi, the maintenance of the lighting systems in the “Atamasthana” in Anuradhapura is carried out, an initiative which commenced around 3 years back. Further, Lakdhanavi fully renovated the electrical system of the Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara.

Construction of a new school building at the Feni Primary School

Feni Lanka constructed a new school building at Dukkin Kashimpur Government Primary School, addressing its inadequate facilities and sanitary conditions. The project included two classrooms, a teachers’ room, and necessary furniture, along with three toilets. This expansion allowed the school to accommodate an additional 60 students, benefiting the existing 135. The local community, government authorities, officials, and educational board praised this initiative. It was also honored with the “Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year – Bangladesh” award at the 2021 Asian Power Awards in Singapore.

LTL Holdings provides financial support to “Suwa Seriya”

LTL Holdings, donated Rs.15 million to Suwa Seriya Foundation for their “Adopt an Ambulance” programme. Funds will be used for the maintenance of ambulances, medical equipment maintenance, staff refresher training, and staff uniforms for three ambulances. Suwa Seriya is a free emergency ambulance service in Sri Lanka which was launched in July 2016. The service is operated by the Suwa Seriya Foundation, a non-profit organization. Suwa Seriya has 297 ambulances. LTL Holdings Ltd, under its Corporate Social Responsibilities Programme, undertakes major Social Responsibility assignments.

COVID-19 support extends to LRH; another donation from LTL Holdings

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, LTL Holdings (Pvt) Ltd donated urgently needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH), including coveralls, goggles, face shields and boots, one hundred from each. Since there is an impending rise of the number of cases in the country, LRH is also identified to treat suspected patients with COVID-19.
With the increase of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka in late March, LTL Holdings has sprung into action, organizing donations of ICU Ventilator machines, Non Invasive Ventilator (BiPAP) machines, High Flow Oxygen Therapy Systems and many other essential medical supplies to the ministry of health as well as to the major hospitals to relieve the shortages.
This donation of PPE for the protection of the health care staff at LRH, will be a valuable contribution to healing the lives of sick children.

Lakdhanavi Limited has donated Rs 4 Million worth of essential medical supplies to Colombo, Kandy and Ragama Hospitals as part of efforts to help combat the novel coronavirus pandemic, on 08th April.

This included 6,000 N95 masks, 10,000 surgical masks to National Hospital Colombo, 750 N95 masks, 2,000 surgical masks, 50 PPE to National Hospital Kandy and 500 N95 masks, 2,000 surgical masks, 25 PPE to Colombo North teaching Hospital, Ragama.
On 27th March, Lakdhanavi donated Rs 16 million worth essential medical items such as ICU Ventilators, BiPAPs, High Flow Oxygen Therapy Systems and so far, Company has donated Rs 20 million worth essential medical items in total.
At a time when people of the entire country are staying home to stop the spread of coronavirus, doctors, nurses and other health care workers are in hospitals, directly interacting with patients diagnosed with the virus. In such a crisis situation, contribution by #Lakdhanavi and #LTL is significant.

Nine ventilator units which were out of service for several years were repaired by Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and handed over to the Ministry of Health on 11th April 2020.

Amid the growing spread of novel coronavirus in Sri Lanka, LTL Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, as the main sponsor, supported this worthy cause by arranging necessary parts and other services to repair those ventilator units. Three more ventilator units are currently under repair and will be handed over to health authorities soon.

As an extension of this project, the Faculty of Engineering has designed an ICU standard new ventilator unit with the support of Faculty of Medicine and Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya.

In the past few years, the company has engaged in multiple projects, including the illumination of many historical heritage and religious sites. LTL Holdings commenced another new and very commendable CSR project at Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH). This involved the entire renovation of the Ward No. 4, visitors’ area and medical staff administration premises to give a totally new look and to create a pleasant environment for children who are receiving treatment. In addition, LTL offered its support to completely convert an identified area within Ward No. 4, into a fully equipped High Dependency Unit. This is a comprehensive unit equipped with latest medical equipment and other essential facilities. Today, LTL Holdings is very much an international company, having large scale development projects in many parts of the world. However, this Sri Lankan company, which started out with humble beginnings has never lost its patriotic spirit and continues to be very active in the corporate responsibility area by helping Sri Lanka society in numerous ways.
