Groundbreaking of 100 MW Rividhanavi Power Plant – The Nation’s First Large-Scale Solar Power Plant
The groundbreaking ceremony of the 100 MW Rividhanavi Solar Power Plant in Siyambalanduwa, Monaragala, took place on 6th September 2025 at 10 a.m., under the patronage of Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, with the participation of Hon. Minister of Energy, Eng. Kumara Jayakody.
The project, a joint development by Lakdhanavi Limited and WindForce PLC, saw the attendance of senior officials from the Ministry of Energy, the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), along with regional government representatives.
This landmark initiative adds a significant boost to the country’s renewable energy portfolio, further reinforcing Sri Lanka’s commitment to advancing clean energy.
Further in parallel to this Rividhanavi has initiated with four CSR projects for the betterment of the Siyambalanduwa, Monaragala area and the people living there.
