LTL Holdings Joins "Clean Sri Lanka" Initiative
Launch of the National Program for Environmental System Enhancement – “Ten Thousand Mee Trees”
We have partnered with the national initiative “Clean Sri Lanka”, which promotes social, environmental, and ethical transformation to improve the quality of life for all citizens. As part of this initiative, LTL Holdings has taken steps to launch the “දස දහසක් මී තුරු” (Dasa Dahasak Mee Thuru), with the tagline “Plant Today Breathe Tomorrow” nationwide tree-planting program, aiming to plant 10,000 Madhuca Longifolia (Mee) saplings across the country.
Marking the official commencement of this initiative, the first phase was launched on 19th of February 2025 with the planting of 500 Mee saplings in the Galapita Ara Wewa agricultural area within the Buttala Divisional Secretariat in the Monaragala District.
The Mee tree (Madhuca Longifolia) is scientifically recognized for its soil conservation properties, its ability to increase soil fertility and its role in enhancing oxygen levels. LTL Holdings has planned to plant 10,000 Mee saplings across multiple districts from 2025 to 2028. The company has also developed a sustainable three-year plan to nurture and protect these trees until they are fully integrated into the ecosystem.
As a leading energy solutions provider in Sri Lanka and as a responsible entity, LTL Holdings is deeply committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities for the well-being of the general public.
